Oven Stew


  • 2 lbs roast, chunked (venison or elk)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 carrots, chunked
  • 4 celery stalks, quartered
  • 1/4 cup tapioca pearls or other thickener
  • 2 cups fresh mushrooms, quartered
  • 1 tsp mineral salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 (16 oz) can tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup red wine
Preheat 300 degrees. Combine ingredients in dutch oven. Bake for 4 hours.
